Giovanni Piazza
Finalist, Youth Category
Livermore High School
Livermore, CA, USA

At a very young age, music consisted of banging on pots and pans and exploring the sounds of the piano keys. Much of this resulted in the covering of one's ears, but it also led to a love for creatively combining sounds. Having played the piano since he was eight years old, Giovanni has always connected with music. Inspired by his grandfather, he also began teaching himself how to play the trumpet. Over the past few years, Giovanni has read about and experimented with the art of orchestral structure, developing a passion for writing his own musical compositions. Being seventeen years old, with one year of high school left to complete, Giovanni plans to earn a degree in music, focusing on orchestration. Although this is Giovanni’s first film score, he hopes there are many more to come.
