Thanks to our snow day, the next season of the VÜK Pinball League is already upon us! Come out for some IFPA sanctioned competitive pinball with 40 games and win honor and glory for your household!

We meet on Tuesdays at 7:30pm at VÜK Pinball, located in the forsaken ruins of Chevy Chase Pavilion, 5335 Wisconsin Ave, Washington, DC.

Competition starts with Week 1 on March 24th and continues until May 12th, followed by finals on May 19th. Dues will be $30, or $15 for players new to competitive pinball. All of the money collected goes to the prize pool! We will pay the IFPA fees, so there will be no taxation without representation in this league.

We'll be playing the qualifying/divisional format that all the cool kids are playing now: Four weeks of Swiss pairing, break into divisions, four weeks of balanced play within the divisions, and finally each division will have finals. One week from each four week period will be dropped.

Aside from a couple of no-account games that we refuse to play on principle, most of the games at VÜK will be eligible for league play, and they're only 50 cents a game and half that for EMs. Elton John and Cactus Canyon showed up a few weeks ago, and we've heard tell that a few more are on the way. Each week we’ll be playing games from the early 70s to the 2020s, all with 1980s pricing! That's your best coin drop value in the area.

VÜK Pinball is located right above the Friendship Heights Metro station, which is pretty convenient on rainy or snowy days. Or you can park in the streets around the mall for free on weeknights after 6:30. Or you can pay $20 to park in the building. Or just walk if you're in the area.

We had FORTY players come out to our big tournament today! Winner of the day was Zachary Parks with Elliott Keith, Matthew Richardson, and Camden Harrahy rounding out the top four.

VÜK Pinball League playoff winners! All these fine players came out on Tuesday and battled for cash and glory against each other, epic games, failing flippers, and the inevitable 11pm closing time!

But there's no time to relax! Thanks to snow days, next season starts on March 24th! Show up and be part of the action!

League is cancelled for tonight (Tuesday, January 27) due to the snowy conditions. Next week (February 3) will now be week 4. Finals will now be March 10.

We are OPEN for play so if you feel safe coming in, feel free to play some casual games with your friends!

State Pinball Championships were held across the Nation yesterday- and at VUK, we held the District Of Taxation Without Representation championships... Thanks to all who participated and were of service- the Tournament Director Victoria Rocco, Tom Kenyon(!) for streaming it all, Rob Wintler Cox for having the key to the games and unsticking balls, and of course, the players! Congrats to Zachary Parks who won it! Represent us, Zach, in Chicago!!! Scott Nash took 2nd place, Adam Ruben 3rd, and Derek Swanson 4th..

Now that all the holiday foolishness is almost finished, it's time to look forward to the next season of the VÜK Pinball League! Come out for some IFPA sanctioned competitive pinball with 40 games and be showered with all the honors and benefits therein!

We will meet on Tuesdays at 7:30pm at VÜK Pinball, located above the Metro but below the street in Chevy Chase Pavilion, 5335 Wisconsin Ave, Washington, DC.

Competition starts with Week 1 on the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6th and continues until February 24th, and finals are scheduled for March 3rd. Dues will be $30, or $15 for players new to competitive pinball. All of the money collected goes to the prize pool! We will pay the exorbitant IFPA fees.

We'll be playing the qualifying/divisional format: Four weeks of Swiss pairing, break into divisions, four weeks of balanced play within the divisions, and finally each division will have finals. As the year gets ready to close out, we have one last tournament to catch those final points! Join us tomorrow for a regular group matchplay style format, followed by a PAPA style finals for the top 8. $20 entry fee. Registration begins at 12:30pm, tournament kicks off at 1pm!
