We are a group committed to exploring connection in community and between individuals. We attend many regional burning man events and burning man itself.

We do this through dance, movement, play, games, and inter-subjective meditation (We Spaces). Camp Contact is an experiential and experimental laboratory which seeks to ask the question “What is human connection?” Default culture has bred the message that connection is obtainable through objects and actions. We propose that connection is obtainable through connecting. But how is that done and, at its core, what is connection? How can I contact Thou? Our laboratory shines a potent beam of illumination on all that we hold sacred: personal space, boundaries, definition of self, energy, physicality. These were all tools necessary for our earliest walk in this world and they are now paradoxically that which prevents of from returning to that authenticity and union which calls us all. We have no specific answers. But we love doing experiments. Most yield potent fruit from which each of us individually draws insight and strength. Camp Contact is devoted to providing a space for Contact Improvisation Dance & related forms at Burning Man and other regional events. We gather to offer classes and workshops within dance spaces that we erect, and to be a part of a temporary intentional community that values awareness and conscious intention while celebrating the dance. In addition to Contact Improv, workshops we've offered include other somatic and contact practices & topics such as Thai Massage, Acroyoga, energy work, eye-contact jams, David Deida, Authentic Relating, Action Theatre & more. I'm excited to be taking Round Sky Solutions' Collaborative Leadership & Management training! While I realize that it takes more than Good People & Good Intentions to have Good Organization, I also realize there's a lot more I could learn about how to allow facilitate groups to have the ability to self-organize and collaborate with ease and productivity! Glad to be taking this training with Sonatta Camara & Ben Lovenheim https://www.roundskysolutions.com/clcp1/

I'm so excited for this Sunday. We've got an incredible lineup and gathering for Sunday Love at Flash for Camp Contact's annual fundraiser! I'm leading a workshop about the emerging philosophy known as Metamodernism, followed by a clever Coordination/Connection game I've adapted! DJ electro-cute/ Ari Ketayun Azizkhan-Gould will be bringing in on the top floor, followed by Heather Luna and then Mita Gami! On the middle floor, we'll be hosting our Burner Outfit Exchange, which is curated by Amy Melrose! Please come and get some great garb for your Playa adventures, and donate garb, preferably at GlowHouse ahead of time or at the event. We'll also have many great artisans, healers, and creatives present! To top it all off, the Foamie Homies are bringing their suds to the top floor to keep us all cool and clean! Bring a towel!
