This wrap day dress is made of a yellow silk printed with a flower motif, demonstrating the 1930s craze for tropical prints, a fad popularized by Hollywood films and nightclubs such as the Coconut Grove.

Marjorie Merriweather Post received the Silver Fawn from the Boy Scouts of America in 1971, one of the first women to receive the honor. The award was granted “for distinguished service to boyhood.” During the ceremony at Hillwood in 1972, the National Capital Area Council declared Post the “First Lady of Scouting.”
