Cecilia Villalobos, AKA "The DC Salsa Queen"", is one of the pioneers of the LA style salsa dancing in the EastCoast area (Washington, Maryland and Virginia area. Also, one of the top international instructors and performers of “On 1 LA Style" and Dominican Bachata. She is an energetic and explosive dancer who is known all around the world for her unique, sexy styling and body movement on and off
the dance floor, powerful stage presence, and passionate love for teaching. In addition, her humble attitude and welcoming personality is what makes her popular amongst the salsa community today. The Peruvian born native Cecilia has trained in a variety of dance styles consisting of Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip-hop, modern Dance, Afro Peruvian, African, Afro-Cuban, Samba and Argentine Tango since the tender age of 5. It was not until the age of 9 that she discovered her passion for latin dances when she began taking classes with different top choreographers in Lima-Peru, which made her move to Brazil to acomplished her dreams as a professional dancer. She continued to study and train in the Sao Paulo Dance Company in Brazil and later became one of the principal dancers at the SaoPaulo Dance Company, while attaining her Degree in Arts. During this period, she had the amazing opportunity to work with top choreographers and top re-know worldwide dancers as she also established herself as a respected and sought out solo artist worldwide, which she continues to do present day. Fortunately, since 1996, Cecilia Villalobos, has been bringing the fire and passion of Latin dance to the EastCoast. She has shared stages with some of today’s musical legends such as the late great Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Tony Vega, Eddie Palmieri, Jimmy Bosh, El Gran Combo, Oscar de Leon, Mark Anthony and many other artists. She has also perofrmed at Telemundo DC, Washington National, DC United, Department of Defense Army-Navy, Univision DC, Fox 5 Channel. Organization of American States, Kennedy Center, Verizon Center, TC Williams High School, Samuel Tucker Elementary School, Saint Michaels School, George Mason University, American, University, Washington University, Nova Community College, Washington Post, Washington Times, Washington Hispanic, US Open, Union Station, DC Life Magazine, Harbord MD, Inter-American Bank, World Bank, Organization of American States, White House etc. Cecilia officially formed her dance company titled "SalsaFuego" in June 2006 . This company the most recognized dance teams in the DMV area, performing and training all over DC East Coast and West Coast. Today, Cecilia is one of the most sought out instructors and choreographers worldwide for all types of dance schools, teams, sweet sixteen/fifteen and couples. Furthermore, many national and international students come to Washington DC just to train with Cecilia in everything from technique, shines, pachanga, chachacha, patterns and more. In addition to performing in numerous salsa congresses and festivals all over the United States, she has had the wonderful opportunity to share her talent internationally in places such as Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, France, Canada, Dubai, England, Austria, and Germany. Cecilia's extraordinary talent and genuine love for salsa is evident through her captivating stage presence, sensual style and sincere manner with people. It is for this reason that she is considered to be one of the most prestigious and sophisticated dancers of her generation.
