💕 Happy Midwife Week! 👶🩷 After becoming a nurse, I also took & passed the Midwifery Board Exam. Little did I know that one day, my heart would belong to Labor & Delivery. ❤️

I started as a general nurse, working in Medical, Surgical, ICU, Pediatric , PPU, LTCU & ER. Then one day, I was assigned to L&D for the first time, & everything changed. 🥹

I still remember my days in Dubai, where I had the privilege of assisting countless mothers and conducting so many low-risk deliveries. Welcoming a new life into this world is a feeling words can never describe. ❤️

Although I haven't practiced delivering babies in years & my confidence isn't quite what it used to be, my love for L&D has never faded.

Who would have thought that this is where my heart truly belongs? 🥹💕

I'm so blessed and grateful to still be working in Labor & Delivery today.

One thing I appreciate about working as a nurse in the US is the work-life balance. 🩺🇺🇸

✅ 3 shifts per week
✅ 12 hours each shift
✅ 4 days off
✅ Paid Time Off (PTO)
✅ Extra shifts are optional if you want to pick up more hours
✅ Paid education and training — for example, if you attend a 6-hour ACLS class required by your employer, those training hours may be paid too

Having 4 days off gives you more time for family, rest, errands, travel, & yourself. And if you want extra income, you can always choose to pick up an additional shift. ❤️
For me, it’s a good balance between working hard & still having time to enjoy life.
