*Stage 1☺️: The euphoric stage - 6 months to 24 months (2 years). "Honeymoon" phase. It seems the whole world centers around that person and you simply ignore or overlook any negative habits of the person. It is marked by suspension of negative judgement. Everything seems like a dream. High levels of dopamine, the chemical which triggers pleasure. πŸ₯°

*Stage 2 ☺️: The early attachment stage - 12 months (1 year) to 60 months (5 years). "Knowing them better" phase. From attraction you move to creating both positive and negative memories. You can peacefully do your regular chores without thinking about the person 24/7. In this stage, the more evolved part of the brain ventral palladium, the region of the brain linked with feelings of attachment, and the attachment hormones, vasopressin, and oxytocinβ€”sometimes referred to as β€œthe love hormone” takes over. πŸ’–

*Stage 3 ☺️: The crisis stage - 60 months (5 years) to 84 months (7 years). "Make or Break" phase. One of the most crucial stage. Either you drift away or come closer. You have witnessed a crisis together, successfully overcome it which made you grow, evolve, change. *Stage 4 ☺️: The deep attachment stage - 84 months (7 years) and beyond. "Calmness after the storm" phase. If you have survived so far with so many ups and downs in life, you know your partner very well, you have clarity on what you can do together and what you cannot. You have plans for handling future crisis. Here also the prefrontal cortex plays a role in controlling our emotions and stress, we are secure and have a realistic plan πŸ€—

Studies say that some couples claim they are in the first phase even after years of a relationship, others say they have experienced all the phases within a very short time and still they are together for years. 1. Could imagine a better future without you or they realize that there is no future with you. 🌎

2. You are no longer a priority and hence investing time and energy in you is a waste. πŸ’©

3. Certain that they could get a better company than you. Due to social media there are plethora of options. By the time you are reading this, they might have got someone better for them not better than you. 🀳🏻

4. If you have opened all the cards on your table, all the mysteries are unfolded about your life and feelings and he or she has nothing more to explore, they are bored now. ♦️

5. Conflicting goals, values, ideas, incompatibility which are often discovered with time. ❌

6. If the relationship seems too demanding and he or she has other important things on their plate; you might be a hindrance to their personal growth or future endeavors. 😱

7. Manipulations, toxicity, physical and emotional abuse. 😢

8. They don't feel appreciated or validated and might feel lack of effective communication. Also, they may have trust issues and might not be comfortable to share what's going on in their life, so better to drop you. πŸ—‘οΈ

9. Physical proximity and intimacy. Yes, even for friendship if it's long distance both parties need to put extra effort to maintain it. Some people might choose to choose someone near by than the far you to get that "touch and feel". βœ‹πŸ»

Life is a beautiful journey encompassing both big and small moments to treasure. Sometimes when we focus on big milestones often the little things go unnoticed, but it's the small moments of love, joy, connection which gives our life a meaningful purpose and create ever lasting memories. πŸ’•

As Robert Frost said in one of my childhood favorite poems, "Stopping by woods on a snowy evening" - "The woods are lovely dark and deep. But I have promises to keep. And miles to go before I sleep.." 🌲

So, in the hustle bustle of life, we get so caught up fulfilling our duties and responsibilities and we ignore rejoicing the little things which profoundly impacts our mental health and well being. πŸ₯°

How to appreciate these little moments? 😊

1. Practice gratitude, be thankful each day for whatever we have. πŸ€—
2. Live for the present moment, slow down, let everything happen organically. ☺️
3. Practice mindfulness to be aware of yourself and your surroundings. πŸ’†πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
4. Spend time with your loved ones and create connections. πŸ₯°
5. Finding joy in simple things. 🫢🏻

1. Analyze and journal: Set aside sometime to understand why and when you are overthinking. If possible, write down your thoughts.
