Grassroots Comedy Making humans laugh while improving humanity. Grassroots Comedy (formerly Grassroots Comedy DC) sits at the crossroads of comedy and advocacy.

Simply put, we make humans laugh while improving humanity. Our goal is to use comedy to support local nonprofits in their mission to make DC (and the world) a better place for all. We aim to accomplish this via the following ways:
-Hosting stand-up comedy fundraisers (with some of the best comedians in the Mid Atlantic) benefiting a local nonprofit partner each month

-Educating our audience on im

portant issues and the local actors working to address them

-Connecting our local partners with potential advocates, allies, and volunteers

-Building relationships between local organizations working across the nonprofit sector

-Building community around the convergence of comedy and civic engagement

A very funny, very q***r show produced by Grassroots Comedy to celebrate The DC LGBTQ+ Community Center and the beginning of Pride Month!

Across the country, LGBTQ+ people are losing access to care, protection, and support. These aren’t abstract policy changes — they are real people losing the resources they rely on to stay safe and well. And when that happens, many come to Washington, DC, a place long considered a site of refuge for vulnerable communities.

That’s why we’re producing the Comedy Show for LGBTQ+ Prosperity, with a portion of proceeds going to The DC LGBTQ+ Community Center! The Center educates, empowers, uplifts, celebrates, elevates, and connects the le***an, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities. And we at Grassroots want to honor that mission by producing a comedy show on June 5th to benefit the Community Center and the communities they serve.
