Join us this Thursday, August 23 at 6:30 PM for an illustrated webinar about the brother and sister team whose contributions to theater, film, and fashion were, according to Variety Magazine in 1929, “The standard by which stage shows are judged.” Presented by Fanchon Simon’s grandson, Steve Simon, this illustrated presentation will feature highlights of Fanchon and Marco’s work and history, examine their elaborate live stage shows, and show us their Art Deco stylized set and fashion designs, which were truly trend setting and remarkable for the time. See our bio for a link to our website to register.

We are sharing a few pics from our event last night. The Art Deco Society of Washington, the NAACP, and the law firm of Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll commemorated the 65th Anniversary of the Freedom Rides departure from the DC Greyhound Bus Terminal building, along with celebrating the recent landmark designation of the building’s historic interior waiting room and lobby. Pictures include historic photos, details of the lobby waiting room and one of our speakers, civil rights pioneer Courtland Cox. Thanks to all of the attendees, sponsors and special guests!
