We spark the curiosity and imagination of the people of greater Washington, DC with world-class entertainment that features visual spectacle, dynamic movement, live music, and passionate acting ensembles. Drawing from the genres of fantasy, farce, and epic adventure, Constellation transports audiences to new and exciting worlds where the action is larger than life. Since our founding in 2007, Constellation has produced 45 stories from 16 countries, including China, India, Ireland, Iraq, Russia, Greece, France, and the Czech Republic. We bring big vision and ambitious design to our 100-seat black box theater in DC’s vibrant 14th Street corridor, transforming the space in new and innovative ways for each production. According to MetroWeekly magazine, Constellation “does some of the best, most adventurous, most reliable work in town, all presented on an epic scale with a level of intimacy that can’t be beat.”

Big news for Constellation!
We’re thrilled to announce that Constellation Theatre Company will join the Atlas Performing Arts Center as a Resident Arts Partner beginning September 1!
This exciting new chapter brings together two organizations with a shared commitment to artistic excellence, equity, inclusion, community, and, of course, bold storytelling.
As a Resident Arts Partner, Constellation will make Atlas an artistic home alongside Capital City Symphony, Mosaic Theater Company, Solas Nua, and Visionaries of the Creative Arts.
And we can’t wait to bring two productions to Atlas this season:
The Old Man and The Old Moon

Thanks to your contributions, we collected over 50 books!

Constellation was proud to partner with Everybody Wins DC during OR, to host a book drive. Over 50 books emphasizing women and non-binary authors were donated to children ages 5 to 12.

At Constellation, we believe everyone should have access to the epic stories and adventures that bring us such delight. That’s why we were over the moon to get to share some magic and myth with the younger members of our DC community and continue to shoot for the stars with our next production.

We’ve closed the final chapter on OR, and we wanted to thank you all for such a delightful and hilarious run. As Assistant Director Jaida Gillespie wrote in her letter, "[Aphra Behn's] work paved a way for other female playwrights like Catherine Trotter, Mary Fix, and Susannah Centlivre, and ultimately gave voice to the feminine experience."
