The exam may have been worth 100 points but this move was worth 300 IQ 💀

📺: Instant Kiwi (1999)

Fun Fact: This ad came out of Saatchi & Saatchi’s New Zealand office in 1999 and became one of the most recognized commercials the country ever produced. The whole move only works in a massive lecture hall where the professor has no chance of knowing every face. The student isn’t flexing status when he asks the question. He’s confirming anonymity. And the second the professor admits he doesn’t know him, the paper goes into the stack and becomes untraceable. The apple grab at the end is the cherry on top, a completely unnecessary power move that turns a clever escape into a legendary one.

Rob-B-Hood (also known as Robin-B-Hood) is a 2006 Hong Kong action-comedy film directed by Benny Chan and starring martial arts legend Jackie Chan along with Louis Koo, Michael Hui, and Yuen Biao. The film is particularly notable because it marked the first time in over 30 years that Jackie Chan played an anti-hero—a flawed criminal and compulsive gambler—rather than his trademark "nice guy" character. Produced on a $16.8 million budget, the film was a massive commercial success in Asia, topping the Chinese box office and grossing over $20 million worldwide.

the iconic opening introduction of Captain Jack Sparrow (played by Johnny Depp) from the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003).

🎬 Meme Origin & Context

The Scene: Jack Sparrow stands proudly on the rigging of his vessel, looking out majestically over the ocean as if he commands a massive, glorious fleet. The Twist: As the camera pans out, it reveals that his "fleet" is actually a tiny, pathetic fishing boat named the Jolly Mon that is completely filled with water and actively sinking. Right at the exact second the boat completely submerges, he smoothly steps off the top of the mast and straight onto the Port Royal dock.

🎬 The movie Scary Movie 3 takes the franchise in a slightly different direction, focusing more on absurd parody than shock humor. Released in 2003 and directed by David Zucker, it mainly spoofs The Ring and Signs, blending horror and sci fi into nonstop jokes. Anna Faris returns as Cindy Campbell, who investigates a mysterious videotape linked to strange events and alien crop circles.

The comedy relies on slapstick, exaggerated reactions, and perfectly timed deadpan lines. Leslie Nielsen’s portrayal of the President adds another layer of ridiculous charm, making it one of the most entertaining entries.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005), directed by George Lucas, is the dark and tragic turning point of the prequel trilogy. Set during the final days of the Clone Wars, the film follows Anakin Skywalker's gradual fall to the dark side as he becomes manipulated by Chancellor Palpatine, who is secretly the Sith Lord Darth Sidious. Early in the movie, during the Battle of Coruscant, Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi board General Grievous' flagship, the Invisible Hand, to rescue Palpatine-an event that begins Anakin's moral unraveling. As fear of losing Padmé drives him toward desperate choices, he ultimately betrays the Jedi Order, becomes Darth Vader, and helps establish the Galactic Empire. The emotional climax arrives in the fiery duel on Mustafar between Anakin and Obi-Wan, symbolizing the collapse of brotherhood and the birth of tyranny.

It all makes sense now

Warfare is a 2025 visceral combat drama produced by A24 and co-directed by Alex Garland alongside real-life Iraq War veteran Ray Mendoza. The script is drawn from true accounts and the real-time testimonies of platoon members. The story serves as a deeply personal "love letter" meant to accurately recreate a specific event to help a critically injured teammate who lost his memory of the mission.

The narrative chronologically reconstructs a grueling day on November 19, 2006, right after the Battle of Ramadi. It follows a tight-knit platoon of U.S. Navy SEALs executing a covert reconnaissance mission from an Iraqi family's house. The operation violently escalates into a brutal survival battle after an Al-Qaeda ambush, pinning the soldiers inside as they take heavy casualties.

Stripping away typical Hollywood tropes, the film plays out in real time without an emotional musical score to ensure absolute historical realism. It features a stellar ensemble cast, including D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai playing a young Mendoza, alongside Will Poulter, Joseph Quinn, Charles Melton, Kit Connor, and Cosmo Jarvis.

Jarhead (2005) follows Anthony Swofford, a third-generation enlistee who navigates the grueling psychological landscape of the Persian Gulf War. The film portrays the agonizing boredom and mounting tension of the U.S. Marines during Operation Desert Shield, where the soldiers wait for a fight that feels increasingly abstract. Swofford and his fellow scouts and snipers struggle with the heat, isolation, and the existential dread of being trained for a violence they may never actually see, ultimately highlighting the dehumanizing nature of modern warfare.
