Really excited to have the opportunity to bring artists, curators, and educators from the DMV area to visit Thailand this August πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡

Creating conversations around how different cultures see, value, and use art is something I’ve always been interested in through my career. While art in the U.S. is often discussed through exhibitions and institutions, in Thailand creativity is woven into everyday lifeβ€”from temples and architecture to crafts, food, and traditions passed down through generations.

Part of the purpose of this affordable cultural exchange trip is to make international travel more accessible by creating opportunities to connect with artists, artisans, local businesses, and cultural spaces. Rather than focusing on luxury vacations, I hope we can learn from and support local communities, gain new perspectives, and explore how Thai artists and makers continue to preserve traditions through their work.

I hope to continue organizing trips like this a couple of times a year, creating more opportunities for artists from the East and West to connect, learn from one another, and share knowledge. I believe these connections help us better understand one another and the world around us.

Yesterday I was invited to speak at the Baltimore Ravens’ People, Culture & Inclusion department. It was so awesome to see such a major football organization supporting diversity and creating space for different communities and cultures to be seen and celebrated.

I brought food from my restaurant and Somapa Thai Dance with me to share traditional Thai dance and introduce part of my culture and background to the community. Having the opportunity to speak about my journey, my work, and where I come from made me feel welcomed, seen, supported, and connected to the community.

Thank you so much for the opportunity,

🚨Please join me on Fri, May 8, from 6–8 PM for the opening of my solo exhibition, The Joy of Simplicity 🌾✨

This has been one of the most challenging exhibitions I’ve ever worked on, balancing a short timeline while navigating family matters. After a difficult start to the year, this show feels like a small reminder to myself that I can keep going, overcome challenges, and still create meaningful work.

Thank you so much to everyone who has reached out, checked on me, and shown kindness during this time πŸ™‡πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I hope to see you at the opening πŸ™πŸ»πŸ€πŸ™πŸ»
