Amazing moonlit landscape by Carole ()

"1st Italian full moon rise for me on the Basilica of Superga in Turin on November 15th! Small challenge taken up during the weekend planned in Turin for a long time without paying attention that it was going to coincide with the full moon! A big thanks to the Toruino photo maestro who allowed me to adjust the spot for the shooting and for this moment of sharing as we like them when Instagram allows us to meet photo enthusiasts. The autumn mist did not allow good visibility but fortunately the brightness of the moon and its still orange-pink color was enough to distinguish it at the top of the Superga hill."

"Last night's just-past full moon / Beaver Moon rising behind DC's Old Post Office Tower (98.3%).

The first image is a blend of two exposures taken from the same spot to help image quality. The foreground frame was taken 5 minutes before the alignment shot. The light level dropped quickly in those 5 minutes of blue hour. The second image is the alignment single frame.

tech details: 700mm using the Nikon D850, Nikon 500PF and TC-14E II (1.4x)"

My second image from last nights adventure chasing Moon Halos. Not only are they mesmerising, they make me think of the concept of time. Staring skyward, makes think of them as a porthole to another dimension - wanting to take me there.

For me, stone circles do just that and I returned to one of my local stone circles at the site of Stanton Drew. A place full of lovely memories. Visiting time and time again, I am drawn back to the past by these megalithic pillars of stone that have survived the ravages of time.

Stone circles for me are a reminder of time gone by and remain a close-part of my life. They act as a somber reminder of how far we have come, but also act as a monumental tribute to the deep past."

"Skellig Michael under the Harvest full Moon

Very challenging photo to edit because of the contrast between dark Foreground and very bright moon, I really like the light and mood because of it!

This is a result of multiple expousures blended together in the Photoshop, most of the blend was done on a sky around the moon I didn't touch the size and position of Moon!

It was real nightmare to get everything looking "Balanced" but let's say I menage to get something descent and definitely different!

Photo is from last week Tuesday 17. Of September from Allagheemore area distance to the little Skellig around 12.8 km and to the Great Skellig around 15.1 km

Camera: Canon R6
Lense: Sigma 150-600C
Tripod: Manfrotto 055

"As the sun set behind us and helicopters and seagulls flew past, May’s near full flower moon rose above the Statue of Liberty. It was a truly magical sight. And, it was great to shoot alongside some wonderful photographers and friends.

"Composite Monday. Chasing the Blue Super Moon last I week I was able to capture some separate foregrounds and moon images to blend at some stage. This was the idea I had in mind and was aiming to achieve. Due to clouds I wasn’t able to get any single images so blends and composites will have to do. There really is something otherworldly standing and staring at a huge big moon!"

"Inside The Heart Shaped Box
Recently, I went exploring at and hiked the Valley Of The Giants Trail. The name alone is daunting, but alluring. It has some of the most magnificent and surreal sycamore trees I have seen in my life. There was something almost tragically poetic in the way those enormous and contorted limbs reached out to the sky. I eventually found this beautiful and inspiring perspective, sans moon composite. Who knows, perhaps a young full moon could fall victim to the clutches of this sycamore’s heart shaped box? My favorite is the second photo which contains the original 2x3 ratio and those tentacle-like limbs, on the right, reaching out above and beyond the camera’s reach. I hope you enjoy! "

It’s almost time for the August full blue moon! Of course the clouds came to party in Atlanta, which are actually from Hurricane Idalia. Here’s a very pretty moonrise I caught last full moon rising above a cumulonimbus cloud! Hopefully you guys see the beautiful moon!
Can you spot the plane?
(The moon isn’t actually blue, it’s just what you call the 2nd moon if there’s 2 in one month)"
