Libretto: Contemporary Art Illuminating Opera - A salon-style exhibition opens June 17 both online at www.artcollectorsathenaeum.com and in person at The American Hotel in Sharon Springs, NY featuring works by Marvin Espy, Rebecca Smith Ford, Janis Goodman, Freya Grand and Ram Sueño inspired by the operas Madama Butterfly, Cosi fan tutte and the musical Oklahoma! - all to be performed at Glimmerglass Opera Festival summer 2026.

My heart is full. For many years I have hoped to conceive an exhibition that changed perceptions and broke down barriers. Eyes can see only see what the mind allows, but when we hear, we discern differently. I believe ears are more open than the eyes, When art and music are integrated...we can more easily transcend barriers. I want to thank ALL the remarkable artists both visual and musical who have collaborated with me to create something that I believe will help us and heal us ...at least provide some much needed relief from divisive and painful times....COLAB is a work in progress. Looking forward to the opening night May 17th

Very excited to be heading to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to be the VIP Liaison for The Jackson Hole Fine Art Fair with over 50 Contemporary Art Dealers from the US and abroad including Imago Gallery, Melissa Morgan Fine Art, Tayloe Piggott Gallery and Deihl Gallery just to name a few. I will be the moderator for a panel discussion and I will co-present the Artist and Sculptor of the Year Awards. I am deeply honored to be co-hosting a special house tour of the home and artist retreat of award winning furniture/interior designer and contemporary art collector Agnes Bourne. Another mystery solved by Art Collector's Athenaeum! We researched an unknown painting in a private collection and was able to attribute the work to Henry Botkin, a notable 20th century painter and cousin of George Gershwin, who helped Gershwin develop his impressive private collection and taught him how to paint! They spent time in a beach cottage in the south in the summer in 1934, where George wrote the opera "Porgy and Bess" and Henry created paintings of the locals that would become the basis for the production design.

I had the pleasure of acquiring a Sam Gilliam painting for a collection where the painting had a conservation issue that Art Collector's Athenaeum conservators could resolve. It went straight to an exhibition after we had remedied the problem that had kept the painting out of circulation. A solid decision to invest in this brilliant artist's work and bring the piece to light with the help of Sande Webster a respected and savvy dealer in African American Art.
