Staten Island Ferry Stories.

I finally got on the ferry for some photography thanks to the workshop. More reflections, silhouettes, and experimental shots. Next time, I’ll have a better idea of what I want to capture.

It’s also a good thing I went with someone who knew what to do or I prob would’ve been stuck on Staten Island for a bit 😅

Last weekend, I had the privilege of taking another workshop with PHIL PENMAN. This time in his own backyard, NYC.

That first day called for thunderstorms, but weather reports said it wouldn’t roll in until 5p. Yeah, it rolled in around 11:30a. We got stuck under an awning across from the Occulus for almost an hour before we decided to make a mad dash to the Occulus to catch the subway from there.

These are some of the images I captured.

I don’t drink a ton of coffee, but I certainly need my morning fix.

Shadows: another assignment from the workshop. There are many ways to capture them and they’re everywhere on a sunny day. For me, the aim is to capture ones that are interesting and convey a story. It’s still a work in progress as some of these do and some don’t.
