Lord Sear, a legendary voice in the New York hip-hop scene and longtime Shade 45 radio host, has passed away at age 52. He first made his mark with the hip-hop group Kurious before becoming a familiar voice on the iconic Stretch and Bobbito Show, touring worldwide on Eminem’s Anger Management Tour, and spending more than two decades as a key part of the Shade 45 family.

Known for his incredible blends of classic R&B, hip-hop B-sides, and rare remixes, Lord Sear created a listening experience that was uniquely his own. More than just a radio host, he was a curator of the culture, a storyteller, and a mentor who helped preserve hip-hop’s history while uplifting the next generation.

Your voice, impact, and love for the culture will continue to echo through the music and memories you leave behind.

I’m grateful to have completed an incredible week at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with The National Institute on Drug Abuse and National Institutes of Health

It was an honor to work alongside a group of tremendously talented individuals, all united by a shared purpose: to make a lasting impact in the woefully underserved SUD treatment space.

Late nights and early mornings were the norm, as we dove deep into rigorous problem analysis, always keeping our end users’ needs at the forefront of our process. From day one, we were encouraged to , and the process did not disappoint!
