🐎🎶 From History to Dance! 🎶🐎 (Sneak peek)👀
Our 4th graders have been learning about jaripeo, a traditional Mexican rodeo tradition with deep cultural roots.
After learning about its history and cultural significance, it’s time for our 4th graders to experience the music and movement for themselves! 💃🏽🕺🏽

¡Que viva la cultura! 🇲🇽❤️

Following isn’t rocket science. This isn’t choreography - this is evidence that when you pay attention, anything is possible. She’s only 6 years old. 😊

Their success is a direct reflextion of their desire, dedication, and discipline. I’m blessed to be a part of their dance journey. 🇨🇴

There is an especially useful distinction you can teach:
“Touch is what our bodies do. Connection is how we work together.”
For six-year-olds, you could make it very concrete: “We use gentle hands, respect our partner’s space, and stay connected by listening with our bodies.”
That framing can help establish a healthy foundation for partner dance where consent, respect, cooperation, and awareness are built into the dance vocabulary from the beginning.

People always ask what I do the first week of school - it all comes down to routines and expectations. Having a student model the expectation is even better.

We had to jump on this trend, and the kids are loving it.

The right shoe doesn’t just complete the look, it changes how you move. A well-built dance shoe supports your arch, stabilizes your ankle, and lets you feel the floor so every spin and pivot lands where you want it. Good technique starts from the ground up.
That’s what makes Larisa Dance shoes special, each pair handmade in Italy with craftsmanship you feel the moment you start dancing.
Big thanks to Naz for filming this with me, and to Molly from for supporting Estrellitas de Sorto. She’s vending for ONE MORE NIGHT at Capital Salsa Congress, so come find your perfect pair before the weekend ends.
