The Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center (SQCC) is pleased to invite you to a special lecture:

Oman: A Legacy of Dialogue and Tolerance Highlighting the Muscat Plan of Action.

Join us for an evening exploring the values of dialogue, religious tolerance, mutual understanding, and peaceful coexistence, with a particular focus on Oman’s longstanding commitment to fostering respect and understanding among different faiths and cultures.

The program will also highlight the Muscat Plan of Action, launched at the United Nations in New York on June 11, 2026. Developed through collaboration between the Sultanate of Oman, the United Nations, and international partners, the initiative seeks to address hate speech and promote peaceful coexistence by strengthening the role of religious, and traditional values. The initiative reflects Oman’s continued commitment to promoting tolerance, peace, and cooperation among diverse communities.

Snippets from Women’s Cancer & Wellness Awareness event.
The Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center was pleased to host its Women’s Cancer & Wellness Awareness event on October 6, 2026, bringing together members of the community for an important conversation on awareness, early detection, support, and wellness.

The program featured Dr. Angelis Vazquez Perez, Breast Surgical Oncologist at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, along with Roxana J. Guerra and Andrea Hans, who shared valuable medical, personal, and advocacy perspectives.

Guests also visited a resources table featuring educational materials and information on women’s health, breast cancer awareness, and support services.

Thank you to our speakers, guests, community members, and representatives from the Embassy of Oman for joining us for this meaningful program.

Highlights of SQCC last Book Club.
The Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center hosted a Book Club discussion featuring The Raven of Ruwi and Other Stories from Oman by Omani writer Hamoud Saud, published by Syracuse University Press.
Moderated by Mr. Walid Sellal, Librarian and Language Program Officer at SQCC, the session offered participants an opportunity to engage with contemporary Omani literature and to explore the collection’s reflections on Muscat, memory, identity, place, and everyday life in the Sultanate of Oman.
Students and teachers participated in the discussion in both English and Arabic, exchanging perspectives on the stories and their cultural and literary significance.

Mrs. Sabra Al Hooti, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman, shared insights on Oman–U.S. relations and answered students’ questions. The visit concluded with a guided tour of SQCC’s library and exhibitions.
