In our earliest days in the business we were blessed to meet and work with the great Sylvester Mubayi. On one occasion we traveled with sculpting tools and presented them as a gift. His humility and easy going nature made working with him a pleasant experience.
When asked to create a sculpture depicting a man in a humble pose this was the outcome in semi precious verdite and it will always be in our permanent collection!
Rest in peace to our friend and one of the greatest to ever pick up a hammer and chisel!
We also owe a special thanks to his son, Shelton, an outstanding artist in his own right, for making this happen.

The grandson and son of early Shona sculpting legends, Farai Tandi has carved (pun intended 😀) out his own legacy as one of the most talented third generation Shona/Zimbabwean artists.
We’ve proudly represented him at Zimstone Gallery and his work has been collected internationally.
