The national arts community needs your voice.

On April 3rd, President Trump released his FY2027 budget proposal, which would effectively shut down three key cultural agencies:

▪️National Endowment for the Arts (NEA)

▪️National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH)

▪️Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS)

The budget requests just $29M to "close" the NEA and $38M to wind down the NEH (not to sustain them).

Why this matters:

▪️The NEA funds an average of 2,300 grants per year, reaching every Congressional district.

▪️Most grants go to small and mid-sized organizations (budgets under $2M).

▪️The NEA funds arts programs in 678 more counties than private foundations can reach.

Take 2 minutes to contact your Representatives today. Our advocacy partners at Americans for the Arts have a pre-written, customizable message ready to send to your U.S. House Representative and U.S. Senators.

Federal arts funding reaches communities that no other source can. Together we can ensure the performing arts remain a vital part of civic life in the U.S.

Help keep international artists on our stages!

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is legally required to process O and P artist visas within 14 days. The reality? Average processing times exceed 10 months.

A bipartisan effort is urging action to ensure USCIS meets its 14-day processing requirement.

Contact Congress by March 18 and help fix the artist visa backlog ➡️ https://americanorchestras.org/learn/advocate/contact-congress-today/

Ticketing reform is moving forward, but critical gaps remain.

While the proposed TICKET Act (S.281) is a step in the right direction, stronger protections are needed to prevent bad actors from exploiting the system.

As a proud member of the Fix the Tix Coalition (led by NIVA - National Independent Venue Association), APAP urges Congress to:

▪️ Require full price transparency
▪️ Ban speculative ticketing with no exceptions
▪️ Cap resale prices and fees

Learn more via Digital Music News ➡️ https://www.digitalmusicnews.com/2026/03/04/ticketing-reform-bill-coalition-senate-committee/

A national alliance of independent music and entertainment industry figures sent a letter to the Senate urging improvements to the TICKET Act.
