CineSocial is a local startup that provides a curated cinematic experience, as an introvert-and-transplant-friendly alternative to the ciurrent social scene in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area. CineSocial works to provide a solution to a problem facing many adults in new environments: social isolation. Often times adults move to work and live in new cities, away from existing relationships, and struggle to build new connections. We at CineSocial believe that movies are an ideal way to both build these new connections, as well as strengthen existing ones. For all their entertainment value, movies are typically viewed in silence, even if people go with groups of friends. CineSocial looks to blend the social experience of hanging out with friends and family, with the backdrop of a movie theater experience. CineSocial also looks to match people with similar interests together to build personal networks.
