Music, Mayhem, Mystery- Rude, Revisionist History. The fantastical, whimsical, gruesome, salacious, inspiring stories of Catholic Saints as told by DMLRR with rock and roll, puppetry, magic and satire. Dizzy Miss Lizzie offers their take on these unusual and extraordinary humans who defied the laws of nature and human nature. DMLRR's The Saints reimagines Catholic lore to explore the intersection of entertainment and faith.
About the Artist(s): DIZZY MISS LIZZIE’S ROADSIDE R***E is an interdisciplinary theatre company conceived in 2008. They produce original works, adapting mythology & literary works into raucous, engaging, utterly modern tales, performing in the Washington DC region at venues such as Capital Fringe, the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, Woolly Mammoth Theatre, and the Keegan Theatre and in NYC at the New York Musical Festival. They are recipients of the Helen Hayes-John Aniello Award for Outstanding Emerging Theatre Company (2012), and DMLRR founders, Debra Buonaccorsi and Steve McWilliams, have written numerous works for the theatre including an adaptation of The Oresteia, The Brontes, & Finn McCool and Flowers Stink, (a TYA work commissioned by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts). As the Americana duo, "The TrueHearts" they have released 4 albums.
