Multi-millionaire banker with royal connections arrested after 9-years hunt for the notorious ‘Putney Pusher’.

The male suspect was detained at his £1.4 million home in west London.

The arrest comes nearly ten years after CCTV showed a male jogger shoving a 33-year-old woman into the path of a double-decker bus on Putney Bridge. The footage went viral and garnered international headlines.

The incident took place in London on May 5th, 2017 at around 7.40am. The woman was walking when the jogger approached from the opposite direction. There was room on the footpath for him to run past her, instead he forcefully shoved her onto the road, in the path of an incoming bus.

The quick reactions of bus driver meant the vehicle just missed her head, saving her life. The jogger continued his run across the bridge, glancing back at her on the floor.

It is understood he is a director at a private bank and is a decorated former British Army officer who served in several major conflicts.

On May 28th 2016, Harambe, a western lowland gorilla, was killed by an emergency response team at Cincinnati Zoo after a three-year-old boy had fell into his enclosure.

In 1987, 18-year-old Michelle Schofield vanished in Florida.

Three days later, her body was found floating in a canal in Bone Valley. Her violent husband Leo was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.

But there was a problem. No physical evidence linked Leo to the crime. The fingerprints inside Michelle’s abandoned car belonged to someone else entirely.

Still, Leo Schofield remained behind bars for decades.

This is one of the most controversial wrongful conviction cases in modern American history, and the subject of the award-winning podcast Bone Valley.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨 South Carolina’s supreme court has overturned the 2023 murder convictions of Alex Murdaugh, a disgraced lawyer who was convicted of the double murder of his wife, Margret, and son, Paul who were shot on the family hunting estate.

On Wednesday, the state’s supreme court ordered a new trial for Alex Murdaugh, who has been serving two life sentences for the June 2021 murders. He is also serving two additional 27 and 40 years sentences for state and federal finance crimes.

In a 5-0 ruling, the court said Murdaugh deserved a new trial because the local county clerk had unfairly biased a jury against him.

In a statement, Attorney General Alan Wilson said his office would ‘aggressively seek to retry Alex Murdaugh for the murders of Maggie and Paul as soon as possible’.

A new trial date is yet to be set.
