Headlining our Nocturnazine/Blackout show at Simple Underground is Stoneburner! Stoneburner is the solo project from Steven Archer that combines tribal fusion electronic dance music with experimental sounds.

Steven Archer is a multifaceted musician, artist, and writer. He is best known for his work with the electronic rock band Ego Likeness (Metropolis Records) as well has is abstract electronica project ::Hopeful Machines::

Playing second at the Nocturnazine/Blackout show August 21 is The Treasury. The Treasury is the project of Troy Hancock of Richmond, VA. Cutting his teeth initially in the Raleigh, NC punk scene, Hancock relocated to Richmond in 2018 and began to focus on experimenting with synths and drum machines.

Following a revelatory Richmond show supporting EBM stalwarts Kontravoid and Lunacy, Hancock solidified his new, aggressive sound, combining a love for 1990s techno, post-punk, EBM, and Synth-punk into a unique and hard-hitting whole. A true road dog who prefers to spend his time playing live and hitting shows up and down the east coast, Hancock still somehow found the time to record his debut EP, Permanent District, featuring four new songs and an updated version of his demo track “Initialized”.

Playing Friday, August 21 at Simple Underground with Stoneburner and Amphetamean, D.J. Sara Vox and D.J. Doomsday spin Goth, Post-Punk, New Wave, Darkwave and EBM before and between bands. Doors at 7pm, $20 cash/Venmo at the door, 18 +.

Interrupting all programs... D.J. Sara Vox will be spinning this year's annual Joe Strummer birthday show at the Pie Shop in D.C.! This annual celebration brings together local bands to perform songs by The Clash and other Joe Strummer projects with a portion of proceeds from the bar going to charity in Strummer's honor. Expect to hear lots of Clash songs and English bands from The Clash era from D.J. Sara Vox, and all your favorite Clash songs performed by the bands, this is a real treat for fans of the only band that matters! Saturday, August 22, free entry, show starts at 7:30pm.

Saturday, September 12 the Blackout presents a celebration of the music of 120 Minutes at the Neptune Room! D.J. Sara Vox and guest D.J. Vlad (Slings and Arrows) pay tribute to the influential and beloved music video show with selections of their favorite songs played on the show, and spin Goth, Post-Punk, New Wave, Darkwave and EBM to boot.

The next Blackout show is coming up fast! Opening for our Stoneburner, The Treasury show is Amphetamean, a Washington D.C., Latinx, Transgender, Bi based Electro Industrial solo Project. Amphetamean produces and arranges all her music including the synths, drums and samples. She has sung in previous projects including Bajskorv and Impulse Control.

Her debut Album “Death By Design” released in April of 2026 on all major streaming platforms features 10 Industrial tracks that range in themes from S*x Work, Genocide, Drugs, Addiction, Love and Immigration. Her influences include Nitzer Ebb, NIN and Skinny Puppy.
