The outdoor skating rink has been very successful and many families are enjoying it. We are moving to enhance the experience by adding bumper cars.
These cars are wildly popular in the Providence rink and At outdoor rinks across the country. The manager of the Providence rink said that their bumper cars are by far the most used feature at the rink, generating the most revenue because so many people use them.
The cars will be purchased with tourism money which comes from our share of the hotel tax. This money can only be used to promote the city, it is where the funds to pay for our firework shows, Winterfest, and other events come from.
If it recieves City Council approval we will move forward.
Also these cars will be used year round. It’s going to be great fun for families.
