This Saturday, the teachers get the wall.

Our RI Art Educators Exhibit brings together 37 works by 25 art educators from across the state, the people who spend their days drawing out everyone else's work, showing what they make when no one's assigning it. Oil, stained glass, ceramics, quilting, felted paper, digital painting, a two-by-three-inch landscape painted on location in a garden. Several of them are self-portraits, which tells you something.

Come meet them! 🎨

Meet Carol Shelton, one of the jurors for the RI Art Educators Exhibit with our friends at RIAEA

A Rhode Island native, Carol studied Art Education at Rhode Island College and spent years working in graphic design before turning fully to painting. Today she works primarily en plein air, painting on location around the state from her Warwick studio, Cove View, with a focus on architecture, nature, color, and light. Her work has earned numerous awards, including a solo exhibit at Coastal Living Gallery in Wickford in 2017.

We're grateful to have her eye on this year's show.

Submission deadline: August 17, 2026.
To enter, follow the link in our bio.
