From our Technical Director Brian Dunn:
“When I’m working on a light design, my thoughts are about the shadows just as much as the light. In real life, shadows from objects like buildings and trees add texture and dimension and it’s important to have that texture on stage as well.
We can create this texture on stage by using templates, better known in the theatrical world as gobos.
For my upcoming design of The Addams Family, I think these spider web gobos will add just the right touch of texture and dimension, in a fun, kitschy kind of way!
Come see this wonderful production with a cast of some Broadway powerhouses alongside a few of our own Orange County artists. Oct 16-18 at the Sugar Loaf Performing Arts Center. Tickets available at www.sugarloafpacny.com
Stop by the tech table at the back of the house after the show and let me know if you noticed the spider webs!
Thanks to Rosco for creating these wonderful gobos!”
