“There were no handheld devices back then. You had to make your own fun. Great times.. If you went to Mom (Gertie) and said "I'm bored" she’d say help me clean or go outside… if you said I'm hungry she’d say have a slice of bread lol” Lloyd Mack

Silver Fox story

“One time I was driving by the bridge on William's rd and there was what looked like a fox on the side of the road. I stopped and picked it up and took it home and put it in the freezer. I remember Linda Hadraba Mack you were so grossed out.. my Dad came to visit and took it to a guy turned out it was a Silver fox and he gave me $110” Lloyd Mack

“When I lived on Williams Road we had a lot of Oak trees. One had a knot hole about 20 feet up. A Wood duck made it’s nest in it. You could see its head sticking out. There is a little creek in Blackwell about a quarter mile away is where they took the babies. It’s called Springbrook creek I don't know if it had a name back than lol. If you follow Morris court which is a road off Williams Road you'll see how close it is to the creek and Blackwell. Back then it was a gravel pit and there were these huge boulders as big as a car. We used to go play on them. Some of them had fossils on them and one had a trilobite as big as my hand. The Warrenville hoodlums used to push junk cars off Butterfield road into the lake.” Lloyd “The Hammer” Mack
