šŸ’Ž Using overdirection to make vivid color MOVE.

When Iā€™m creating a placement like this rainbow fluorite-inspired look, Iā€™m not just thinking about what colors look good next to each otherā€”Iā€™m thinking about where those colors are going to fall when the hair comes back to its natural position.

I use overdirection to my advantage when applying my vivids. By pulling the hair away from where it naturally lives and placing my color intentionally, I can control how those shades fall, overlap and cascade into each other once the hair is released.

Instead of seeing obvious sections or stripes of green, blue + purple, you get little pockets of color that peek through and shift depending on how the hair is styled. šŸ’ššŸ’™šŸ’œ

And when you add curls? THATā€™S when the placement really starts showing off. šŸ‘€

Donā€™t just think about where youā€™re putting the colorā€”think about where that section is going to live when you let it go.
