On February 2, 2024, Lake Lake from Youngstown, Ohio release and their new EP, Prox Joy. It is a straight up fresh, crips, raw kick in the face record. Possessing an upbeat energy while also mixing in the mellowness of stoner metal at the right moments. It has a metal vibe with vocals reminiscent of noise rock bands. There is no single genre to lump this album into, which is an added bonus in a music industry that wants everything to be labeled and in it's place it seems. Why hibernate in a box with a label when you can explore the whole landscape at your leisure.

So, if you have yet to give this record a proper listen or even just a trial listen, do yourself a favor and put on some headphones and enjoy. Your boss will still be yelling orders at you in 40 minutes and you the monotony of life will be right there where you left it. Escape into the madness and genius of this album, you can thank me later, or better yet buy me a beer at the next show because lets face it, your adoration won't pay my bills or quench my thirst!!!
