We have 2026 shirts still available for sale for $5 each. And we also have some previous years available as well for $2 each. And still have some SSF cookbooks for $5 each. All of these items are down at the Warren Pharmacy or you can message us here to have something checked on. All shirts are in various sizes adult and youth and some only have a few left. This week we are going to highlight one of our Salamonie Summer Festival committee members.

Cheryl Deweese- Current Festival President

Cheryl has been part a part of the Salamonie Summer Festival since she was in high school! That's 50+ years. She was even our Salamonie Summer Festival Queen back in 1973. Her part in this town runs deep as she and her husband of 49 years George run Deweese Soft water and Appliance, plus she grew up just over in Wells county and would come in town for the Wednesday night drawings. Cheryl says her favorite event of the Festival was the Rodeos. When asked what she would like people to know about the Salamonie Summer Festival she started: We try to do events that are free for the kids, so that it can be a Family Fun time for everyone.

Did you know the Salamonie Summer Festival started in 1967 with a conversation? Mary Brandon, Eva Mae Minnich, Don Ping, and Kenny Coolman were the ones who had this discussion about trying to bring people back to Warren and come home for a visit after so many had left town for various reasons. And with those thoughts our Festival was born.

As we approach our 60th anniversary each week to 2 weeks we will be putting out some Festival history, photo flashbacks, and introduce you to the Salamonie Summer Festival committee. Also be on the lookout for various fundraisers and events throughout the year as we raise money to help keep the Salamonie Summer Festival going each year. Thank you all for your support over the past years and for your future support as we keep moving forward.

Now that we all have had a moment to relax from the busy Salamonie Summer Festival weekend, we would like to know what were the things that you liked or even possibly disliked about this years Festival? Is there something you would like for us to possibly look into for future years? Or even something maybe to try and bring back from years past? Please let us know in the comments or even DM us, we want to make the Festival as fun and appealing as possible for everyone. Thanks for the input!

The winner of the Salamonie Summer Festival Eagle carving was Jerry Long! And the winner of the Salamonie Summer Festival quilt was Tamra Aschliman! Congratulations to the winners and Thank you to Ron Bradford for making the Eagle and to Nicki Zoda for the quilt!
