Today, the Warren County Summer Music School brought the Butter Chicken Band for the 6th-8th graders! Butter Chicken is a collaborative effort by musicians across several disciplines to explore the intersection of South Asian music, a baraat band, and a New Orleans-style brass band. Last night, Roots Rising was grateful to welcome Amythyst Kiah! In the intimate setting of the Mead Family Library Room, she wowed patrons with two sets of her soulful voice and strumming that drift easily between folk, blues, and country. Thank you to Amythyst and her crew for making the trip to our small town, and to those who showed up to support original Roots music!
