Hello all! I hope everyone is and has been enjoying the great summer weather. I am looking for a group or individual that would like to take on the responsibility of the rink going forward. After 12+ years of building, maintaining and all other duties so assigned related to this endeavor I am stepping back to pursue other interests. In the past few years the weather has made the rink a project that is far more work for a lot less skating time. Not to say that future years will be the same...but I am ready to spend time chasing other hobbies. It has been a great experience over the years working with the many individuals that made this possible. I have so many great memories and am grateful for the opportunity to pursue this project over the years! It is now time to pass the torch. If any individual or group is interested in taking this on please reach out to me and let me know. (My contact info is accurate)I will be happy to walk you through the process and the pitfalls. I will always be available to lend a hand or advice if needed. Thanks for the great memories and support!!

The rink is open Today for as long as the weather And conditions permit.😁

Unfortunately, the rink will remain closed today. The warm weather has left the ice in poor shape. it was not cold enough last evening for resurfacing. An attempt to resurface tonight may allow it to open tomorrow.🤞

02/23/2024

Due to the warm temperature the rink is closed for the remainder of the day. It will reopen tomorrow morning.

The rink is open, I would describe the conditions as “spring skating”. There are some soft spots and crunchy spots but it is skateable. I will likely resurface again tonight in hopes of having better conditions for the weekend 😁

Rink is closed due to warm temps. We had a short but nice run of some good ice. Hopefully the cool temps will return but in the meantime, enjoy the sunny/warm weather!

Conditions today… Better than yesterday. Resurfaced last night a few bumps, but certainly improved.😁

Rink conditions, the rink is open. However, the ice quality is poor, I’d give it about a four out of 10 and this will likely get worse as the temperature increases and the sun gets to it. You’re more than welcome to give it a try. Hopefully the cold temperatures this week will allow for some resurfacing🤞

Conditions update – unfortunately the warm temps have kept the ice from tightening up. I have put down a few coats of water which definitely have improved the situation. It is too warm to get on the ice today but I will open it over the weekend and whatever will be will be. We might as well try and get some time on the ice while we can. If it gets torn up, I will resurface it Saturday and Sunday evening in an effort to keep it going For the next week.

The rink is clear, Nice work and many thanks to everyone who pitched in! I will put a coat of water on it tomorrow morning and tomorrow Evening. Warm temps return Thursday for the day, but we should be in good shape for the weekend.! I will let you know when we can get back on the ice😁

Help wanted! Well, we ended up with snow instead of rain, which certainly made a mess of the ice. I have tried to clear it this morning, however because of the soft ice underneath and snow/slush on top I’m unable to use the snowblower to clear the ice. The ice underneath is soft as it was created by previous layers of slush. The only way to clear this ice is to shovel it. anybody looking for a workout is invited. It is the only way to save the ice. I will be working on this until about 830 this morning and then need to go to work. I will leave the gate open for anybody who wants to pitch in. If we do get it shoveled off it will need some resurfacing to get it going again. However, if we do not get a shoveled off before the cold temps return it is probably done.

01/24/2024

The rink is closed. The rink has been cleared, the upcoming warm weather and potential for rain will keep the rink closed until cold Temps return. Please stay off the ice. The warm weather and rain should improve the conditions of the ice once it does cool down. I will let you know as soon as it can be opened.😁
