On June 26th, Senior band member Gavin Hilleary, will be performing in Cleveland with some of the top musicians throughout the country in the American School Band Directors Association National Honor Band. Gavin has earned the principal Trumpet position for ensemble, which will perform on Thursday morning under the direction of Dr. Mary Schneider from Eastern Michigan University. Congratulations to Gavin on being accepted into the honor band.

Last night the Symphonic Band and Concert Band performed at the OMEA State Large Group Adjudicated Event. This was the first time the Concert Band performed at the state level and received an overall Excellent Rating. The Symphonic Band received Superior Ratings from all four judges. This is the fourth year in a row the Symphonic Band has received a Superior Rating at state. We are proud of all the band members for their hard work and drive towards musical excellence.

The Wapakoneta Band is raffling off the Darth Vader costume from their 2025 marching band show. This costume has only been used a couple of times and would be a great addition to any Star Wars fanatic collection. The costume will be raffled off once all 100 tickets have been sold. The winner will be announced at the high school spring concert on Monday, May 4th. (Costume size is adult large. Lightsaber NOT included.) Tickets can be purchased at the following link:

Impulse performed today at state championships and placed 5th in their division. Their performance showed the months of hard work they put into their show. Congratulations on a great season.
