s. The King Centre offers a variety of dance classes, musical theatre, acting, and voice in three locations; Wanaque, Mahwah and Butler. In September of 1970, Nancy King founded the King Centre for the Performing Arts. During her first few years, the studio grew rapidly and in 1971 Nancy and her husband Brendan King purchased a warehouse in Wanaque, NJ. This warehouse later became the home to Nancy, Skip and their four children Natalie, Brendan, Micheal and Chris. The warehouse also became the home to thousands of students training in all styles of dance. Many King Centre students have enjoyed professional careers in television, on Broadway, in various ballet companies, NYC Rockettes and film. As the years went on the studio continued to grow, and in 2005, Nancy extended the King Centre tradition to Bergen County and opened the Wyckoff studio. Within a few years, the studio had grown again and was relocated to a 4,500 square foot warehouse in Mahwah, NJ. In 2015, the studio expanded yet again as the Butler Studio was opened. The King Centre is locally grown but nationally known as many of our students have achieved National awards in top of the line dance competitions across the nation.
