After all the rain - Symphony in the Park is moving to the WHS Football Stadium for tomorrow (Friday) night.

VENUE CHANGE!!! - Symphony in the Park

The multiple rounds of rain haven't been super forgiving to the grass in Wamego City Park. With standing water in low areas, we don't want to create extra work for our City Crews who have been hard at work with storm clean up the past several days, and hosting it in our beautiful park just isn't possible.

So to make seating, parking and access easier due to all the rain, we will be moving Symphony in the Park to the Wamego High School Football Stadium. A huge thanks to Wamego High School - USD 320 for making this happen.

The MHK Symphony has an amazing set ready to go. And we are still beyond excited to host their performance.

-Admission is still FREE
-Food and Beverage from Friendship House will still be available
-Gates open at 6
-Symphony plays at 7

We'll see you Friday at the Football Stadium!

*NO ALCOHOL IS ALLOWED ON SCHOOL PROPERTY

Spectacular! Thanks Pyro Crew!

We are beyond excited to kick off summer with Symphony in the Park. A free community concert and event in Wamego City Park on June 12th. This fun family event will be part of Wamego's America 250 Celebrations. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and find a spot in the grass and enjoy an amazing night of music from the MHK Symphony. Food from Friendship House will be available starting at 5:30p, and beer and wine will be for sale for those over 21. Pre show events start at 6p, with the Symphony performing at 7pm.

Thanks to our amazing sponsors for making this a free concert for the community. Wamego Community Foundation, the Legacy Club from Bank of the Flint Hills, the Heritage Club from Kaw Valley State Bank and Trust, the Edna Mae Peddicord Charitable Trust, and the City of Wamego, Kansas Government for letting us use the beautiful Wamego City Park facility.

We can't wait for June 12th for a beautiful night to salute an incredible community.

What a cool story from earlier today. A BBC video news crew rolled into town for some “Kansas” footage for a piece on the English National team as they get ready to head to Kansas City as a home base for the World Cup. From the OZ Museum to a couple local musicians playing on the Yellow Brick Road it was quite a morning! We were their last stop as they fly back to England later this afternoon.

Welcome to Kansas friends, and “There’s no place like Wamego!”
