Don't miss out on THA 125: THE ART OF SCENOGRAPHY. FALL 2026 - Fridays 9:35a - 12:25p

This course introduces students to the process of creating evocative and imaginative designs for the stage. Open to all majors and years; non-majors are encouraged to enroll.

Students will develop ideas and striking theatrical images that tell the story of a text while exploring how texture, color, composition, space, and technology (video/projection) shape visual environments.

In a studio setting, students learn research, sketching, model making, and drafting, while taking creative risks and developing their artistic vision.

Of interest to designers, directors, filmmakers, fine artists, and anyone interested in visual storytelling. Won't be taught in Spring 2027, so register now!

Don't miss THA 23 - Movement for the Stage

Open to all experience levels. Register for Fall now!

The actor's job is to create action out of meaning and meaning out of action. Stories can be told with a simple physical gesture - a position or shape of the body in space. The dynamic quality of movement can convey a rich and fascinating narrative.

Develop a keen awareness of movement and physical expressiveness, essential for performing on stage or in any public forum.

Through exercises designed to unleash imagination, this course brings courage and responsiveness into the body while building physical skills and tools for theater performance. Usually offered every year.
