Did you know that showrunner Chandreyee Lahiri also curates and coaches for Voices, produced by Off Kendrik? Every other year this true story telling show brings South Asian immigrant experiences to Greater Boston, usually to a packed house. This year, Voices is returning to Waltham, where the 2018 show was also held. In fact, it will fill the gap left by the postponed Big WaWs - by happening at the Charles River museum! Come watch some funny, warm and thought-provoking stories on Fri, June 5th. Tickets are going fast at offkendrik.com/voices

Introducing the cast of Voices 2026!
Meenakshi Garodia, Shoham Bhadra, Hamida Merchant, Nidhi Lal, Rajesh Mirchandani, Pooja Saraff and Chetan Tiwari.

This collection of stories run the gamut from the familiar (defying stereotypes, the search for identity) to the charming (whistling your way into community) to thought provoking (fatalism can be inherited).

Follow this page to track teasers of the upcoming stories and sample flashbacks of older ones. If you already know you want to come, get your tickets now at offkendrik.com/voices! (Seating is limited and the show is one-night only so get your tickets.)

Still a few spots left on Thursday's story telling workshop. Build confidence, practise public speaking in a small group and learn how to tell interesting personal stories that touch and persuade people. This is an important leadership skill as well as key when you need to advocate for yourself or your organization. Last year's was great fun and participants' stories improved significantly after the coaching they received. Tickets at wearewaltham.com

Spring Wee WaW 2026 was a blast with a room packed with people AND laughter. We had 3 hilarious featured tellers who reduced some people to tears and 1 very touching, heartwarming story. The open mic was similarly amazing with one funny story after another sprinkled with a few heartwarming tales. Roger Jermyn's beautiful melodies on guitar soothed all souls while setting the perfect ambience. Everyone got a handmade worry stone from show creator Chandreyee, to remind them that everyone has a story and every story matters. Since the show has adequate funding this year (with no Big WaWs to pay for) ticket proceeds from the show will be donated back to Common Good Co. for their Giving Wall (supporting 3 local charities every month). Teller Michele Hache's birthday eve was celebrated with a cupcake. :-)

Thanks to Waltham Cultural Council (Massachusetts Cultural Council (and Massachusetts Cultural Council) for a grant that makes this possible and thanks to everyone who came out and helped build the incredible warmth and community that rises to the top of every WaW event. Mark your calendars for the October Wee WaW on October 30th. We are cooking up a Halloween theme so get ready to share and scare!

Did you ever wish you could tell engaging personal stories or get your message across to someone you want to convince? Story telling is not just for shows or entertainment: it's an essential skill for effective communication.

At the generative workshop next Thursday at the Charles River Museum at wearewaltham.com, pick up some tips to engage and convince people with true stories from your memory and work on a story idea of your own. Properly form your thoughts and messages and build your confidence about communicating and public speaking. The workshop is for a small group of people and starts with a crash course on storytelling from show creator Chandreyee Lahiri. Enjoy some light refreshments, work on a true story draft of your own then work in small groups with coaches to get feedback and guidance on your story. At the end of the night, if time permits, step up to a mic and share your story with workshop attendees.

Last year's workshop was very well received, and one teller went on to share their story on a big show. Photos from last year are at wearewaltham.com/2025-workshop. Tickets are at wearewaltham.com but if price is an obstacle, email [email protected] for a free pass.
