Hey everyone! We’ve had several questions over the last week about the farmers market and how to become a vendor. The Walnut Farmers Market is who to contact regarding this. The app is pinned at the top of their page.

But… the market isn’t only on Sauerkraut Day, the next one is this Friday the 10th. We hope to see everyone show up and support these vendors 😉

🥬 Sauerkraut Day - Schedule of Events 🥬

7-10am - Walnut Fire & Rescue breakfast and Walnut Public Library Backpack Drive

8am-5pm - Show and Shine, Antique City Dr., contact Tim Branan, 402-740-3248, for more info and to get signed up

8am-5pm - Scavenger Hunt, pick up passports at the Fire Station or Merch Table the morning of

9am-12pm - Walnut Farmers Market with Coffeegirl and Merch Table, Antique City Dr.

10am-4pm - Bounce Houses, Antique City Dr.

10am-230pm - Hansen House Senior Living - Harlan, IA Train Rides, north of Walnut Community Center

1030-11am - Register for Bags Tournament, parking lot behind Walnut Community Center

11am-1pm - Sauerkraut Contest at Walnut Community Center, best sauerkraut and best recipe using sauerkraut, contact Briar Schneckloth, 402-926-1096, to get signed up

1130am-3pm - Bags Tournament

12-3pm - Dunk Tank in front of Walnut Community Center - make sure to get those votes in for your favorite Sauerpuss!

12-3pm - Jail Cell in front of Walnut Community Center - who do YOU want to put in jail?!?

12-4pm - Foamery on Antique City Dr.

1-3pm - Bingo at Peace Haven

1-4pm - Hayrack Rides provided by Walnut Iowa Historical Society, plus the Museum will be open during this time

2-6pm - Bounce Houses at Fireman’s Park

3-5pm - Donkey Races at the ball fields, contact Ranea Sievers, 712-249-3486, to get signed up

4-6pm - Pinoak Acres Horse Rides at the ball fields in grass parking area

5-7pm - Dinner at The Legion Hall, sponsored and hosted by Marne Elk Horn

6pm - Beer Gardens open in front of Glenns Food and Pub

7-11pm - Street Dance on Antique City Dr., downtown on the brick, featuring Mighty Mayhem

Dusk - Fireworks, downtown during the street dance

Most events are FREE and all events are Family Friendly. Put the date on your calendar!
