Fishing trips with dad? Nope. I was in the studio from day one. That was my playground. Soldering Neve channel modules at age 9. Mic'ing drum sets and guitar amps. Listening to mixes on the way home and falling asleep with those mixes in my cassette deck headphones. I don't believe it's possible to have more experience in A&R than that. Someone tell me I'm wrong. And I'm not even talking about all the negotiating of deals I witnessed growing up and the lecturing of what it all means. There is definitely an art to the deal and an art to making hit records. A lot say they have that art, that skill, that experience. It's all subjective. I know I lived and breathed it. I thank my father for that. We did eventually go fishing once lol. But we caught a lot more fish in this music business than in that boat. &r
