A little something is taking shape in the studio… 🐝

This November, I’ll be sharing a body of work inspired by the small moments I’ve stopped to notice, and carried back into the studio.

More details and plenty of behind-the-scenes peeks as the show develops. 💛

The Summer Teen Art Series wrapped up this week with our Graphic Design Workshop! 🎨💻

Over three days, these young designers explored the basics of graphic design, learned their way around digital design software, and, most importantly, had plenty of time to experiment, problem-solve, and CREATE!

Check out a couple of their finished designs below, completed by Lucy and Michael! 👀✨

At the end of the workshop, one of my students stopped to thank me and told me how much he had learned over the three days. 🥹 As an artist and educator, there really isn't a better feeling than that.

💛I absolutely loved watching these young artists gain confidence in their skills and discover new ways to bring their ideas to life.

⭐️A huge thank you to Tracy Community Education and Tracy Public Library for helping make this series possible!

This activity was funded in part with a grant from the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council made possible by the voters of Minnesota, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

The Marshall Sketchbook Club designed their own stickers! ✏️✨

From sketches and ideas to finished designs, these young artists created stickers that are completely their own, and they turned out SO good!

Here’s a little slideshow showing off their work. 🎨💛

See you next year Marshall Sketchbook Club!

And just like that, Summer Art Camps in Marshall are a wrap! 🎨☀️

What a summer! So much creativity, experimenting, learning, and, of course, a whole lot of mess. 💛

I put together a little slideshow to celebrate some of the amazing artwork and moments from this summer’s camps. Thank you to all of the young artists who joined me and to the families who made art camp part of their summer!

See you next summer! 🎨✨

🎨 From Sketchbook to Sticker!

One of the highlights of this year's Teen Summer Art Series has been watching students transform their original sketchbook drawings into digital artwork ready for print. This video showcases a few of their creative designs before they become custom stickers!

Our Artists can pick up their finished stickers at the Tracy Library on Tuesday, August 11, just in time for Graphic Design Basics, our final program in the Series with Tracy Community Education.

I'm so proud of the creativity, imagination, and hard work these young artists have shown throughout the series so far!

🎭 A Look Back at Tracy Theater Camp!

What an amazing few days of creativity, imagination, and teamwork!

Inspired by I Have a Plan, campers worked together to adapt the story into a play, build their own sets, explore acting through theater games and creative exercises, and prepare for a final performance for family and friends.

This video shares their performance along with behind-the-scenes moments from throughout the week. I hope you enjoy seeing all of the creativity, confidence, and fun that made this camp so special!

Thank you to the campers, families, and everyone who helped make this program a success.

This program was made possible through funding provided by the Southwest Minnesota Arts Council with funds appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
