In 1987 the Walnut Creek City Council selected the Walnut Creek Concert Band to be its official band to promote community identity and to enrich civic pride by providing concerts to the community. (See Concert Schedule). The primary objectives of the band are as follows: to entertain and musically support the City of Walnut Creek, CA though community, patriotic and civic events, to entertain the p
ublic with a wide variety of music, to provide an outlet for local musicians to share their talent and music making passion with Walnut Creek audiences. The repertoire of the band spans the entire rich spectrum of concert band music from Gershwin and Copland to Sinatra and Sousa. Our concerts are presented at the Lesher Center for the Arts, Walnut Creek Civic Park, and at Rossmoor - all in Walnut Creek. On September 1, 1999 the band became a California public benefit corporation and on April 19, 2000 was determined a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization, ID #68-0447227.
