Announcing Act II improv’s New Creative Director
A Special Announcement from General Manager: Randy Wight
In May of 2015, Act II improv was born. A collection of improvisors that had years of experience and wanted more. More shows, more training, and more opportunities to give back to the community. We created Improv for Good as the vehicle for giving back and we have had some tremendously talented stewards of the troupe’s creative vision. Steve Schultz, and Ronald Llenado were instrumental in leading us and teaching us how to be better performers while directing the unbridled spirit of an ever-changing cast of characters. I want to thank Steve, Ron, all the players ,and guest artists that have performed with Act II improv and helped us give back to the community. Thanks to all of you, we are stronger than ever!
In our vision for the future, we are laser focused on our core mission to foster a creative outlet for improvisational artists to innovate and grow, creating quality intimate theatre, and giving back to our community. It is our intention to do all of this while recognizing the need to make it FUN!”
Having our eyes set on that vision, a new team is forming. It starts with the collaboration with our production partner, Funny Bone Productions. It is carried forward through their educational programs, workshops and shows. Bearing in mind the need to continually create new opportunities we are working with Funny Bone Productions to provide leadership to their classes, and workshops. We are building the leadership team that we need for the long-term
In order to achieve our vision, we have identified two key roles and one key person to add to our leadership team: one that be focused on training, while remaining focused on performance through creative development. We do not have to look far, however, to find an ideal leader for our performance and creative development work – which leads me (finally!) to my announcement: it is my joy and privilege to announce that Jaime Rich is Act II improv’s new Creative Director!
As Chief Educational Director of Funny Bone Productions, Jaime has shared her broad leadership abilities throughout the organization, with special emphasis on class and workshop training and other creative development opportunities that directly feed our mission. She is an essential partner to me and the future of our troupe. It will be her ability through her work in all aspects of the troupe that will aid in articulating our shared vision, building programs, and representing us in our work with the community.
