🚨HOLY TRINITY BINGO 🚨
With sadness from us to so many of our YEARS of DEDICATED players and now FAMILY for so many the time has come for Leslie and i to pack it in.
Running this bingo started almost 8 years ago when my son was in third grade at the school. Avery is now a sophomore in high school. We are beyond PROUD to say we brought this bingo to places it was never before. Before we started attendance barely hit 70 players and to us seeing well over 100 each week, and our biggest 180 players. A school year saw over $40K directly to the school which is something we are PROUD of, and no one can take that away from us. We changed that stereotype real quick that bingo is only for “seniors”. We saw new faces every week. The compliments and praise were to many to count, and the negative ones i can count on one hand.
Our family of players even took time to donate to our very own Toy Drive that we put together two years and donated to Connecticut Children’s Hospital.
This bingo could NOT have run without volunteers. Some years were stronger than others with getting volunteers from the school. With that said week in and week out a large percentage if not all some weeks we ran on player volunteers. Some called bingo numbers, some ran the kitchen, and some sold tickets. If we didn’t have them this bingo would not have happened week in and week out.
Some might have a negative response when reading this, but hoping most is positive. Know this decision was harder than most will realize. Running the bingo almost 8 years came with missing out on a lot of events, and most importantly time with family. One summer we took off during this whole time, and other unexpected times were when family was ill. Weekly bingo was three nights to prep and setup for.
What kept the momentum going for Leslie, and i was knowing just about ALL of our players APPRECIATED everything we did week in and week out. We need to take this time to be with family, and i need to take some time spending with teenager who keeps me busy and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
We know we will see you all around at other bingos, and two are local favorites.
St Therese’s on Tuesday night in North Haven run by Blaise Vece. A great group of people running this and have been doing it for many years.
St. Bridget’s in Cheshire on Thursday night run by Kathy. Kathy works hard and puts a lot of time in every week.
If we hear anything about the school starting up Friday night bingo I’ll be sure to let you all know.
Much love, and most importantly THANK YOU!
Pat, Leslie, and Avery.
