Before the holiday madness begins… the endless shopping, Thanksgiving meal prepping, school goodie bags, keeping the house together, and making sure everyone else is happy and taken care of…

MAMA, DON’T FORGET ABOUT YOU! ❤️

Take a moment to reconnect with your village. Meet new people who might just become part of your village. Laugh, create, share stories, and most importantly, reconnect with YOURSELF.

Because sometimes all we need is good company, a little creativity, and a reminder that we’re more than just the roles we play every day.

And THAT is exactly why I created Yuchi on Wheels. It’s never been just about the art. It’s about creating experiences that bring people together, build friendships, and give us a little piece of ourselves back.

So follow along as I travel around discovering hidden gems with GOOD food, GOOD drinks, GREAT people, and creative experiences that feed the soul! 🎨🥂

Let’s create, connect, and build our village together. 💕

Lately, I’ve come to realize that choosing yourself should never come with guilt, shame, or the need for anyone else’s approval.

As moms, it’s almost second nature to put everyone else’s needs before our own. We give and give until there’s barely anything left for ourselves. And then we wonder why we feel so drained.

But here’s something I keep reminding myself…

There’s a reason they tell us on airplanes to put our own oxygen masks on FIRST before helping our children. Because if we can’t breathe, how can we help anyone else?

Life works the same way.

Self-love isn’t selfish. Choosing your happiness doesn’t mean loving your family any less. It means learning to love yourself enough to show up as the best version of YOU for the people who matter most.

So take that break. Chase that dream. Find that hobby. Make time for the things that bring YOU joy.

Our children deserve a happy, present mom. And we deserve to be happy women outside of motherhood, too.

You don’t need permission to fill your own cup. You just need to start choosing yourself. ❤️

We’re back at Hamden PAL! 💛 Last Tuesday we kicked off a brand-new year of creativity with Graffiti Name Art. Students chose their own bubble or block-letter style and filled their names with colors, patterns, and little memories from their summer.

Then came the Finish the Drawing Challenge: every drawing started with just ONE random line. Same starting point, totally different ideas. That’s the beauty of creativity. 🥰

So excited for another year of new artists, materials, and techniques, and of building confidence and connections through art.

Check in on the friends and family whose lives look picture-perfect on social media. More often than we realize, there’s so much happening behind those pictures that we never see.

Lately, I’ve learned to care less about how my life looks to everyone else and more about how it feels on the inside.

My life can be messy. It can be exhausting. There are hard days and parts no one sees. But at the end of the day, seeing my babies loved, safe, happy, and taken care of fills my cup more than any picture-perfect life ever could.

I’m also learning that I don’t have to explain everything. What once hurt me in silence doesn’t have to define me. In time, truth has a way of revealing itself.

What matters most is the genuine love I surround myself with, the love I give back, and the life I’m creating for myself and my babies.

It may not always look perfect from the outside… but I’d choose something that feels real over something that simply looks perfect any day. 🤍

Lately, I’ve had to remind myself that everyone has their own timeline.

While some were building careers and figuring out their next move, I was busy raising my littles. I got to be there for the milestones, the hard days, the snuggles, and all the little moments that helped shape who they are today — and I wouldn’t trade that time for anything.

Now I’m entering a different season. One where I get to rediscover who I am, build my career, grow my business, and chase dreams of my own.

And my babies get to watch me do it.

They get to see that you can start at any point in life. That you can be independent, work hard, change directions, fall down, and still keep going.

Especially for my girls, I want them to grow up knowing they are strong, capable, and worthy of building a life that feels true to them.

Maybe life isn’t happening to me… maybe it’s happening for me.

I’m not late. I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be.

I spent one chapter building my family.
Now I’m building something that I hope will give me even more freedom to be present with them in the chapters ahead. ✨

Lately, with everything life has been throwing at me, I’ve been reflecting a lot.

Sometimes I ask myself, Who would I be if I never had my babies?

And honestly… I think I would’ve been lost.

My kids came into my life with challenges I never could’ve prepared for, but through those challenges, they showed me strengths I didn’t know I had. They taught me about my heart, my purpose, my relationships, my boundaries, and the woman I want to become.

I’ve made mistakes. I’m still figuring life out. But now I get to take those lessons and teach my children better.

Being a full-time mom while trying to build something for myself, chase my dreams, find my independence, and figure out who I am as a woman outside of motherhood is HARD.

But my babies get to watch all of it.

They see Mommy struggle.
They see Mommy cry.
They see Mommy dream.
They see Mommy get knocked down.
And most importantly, they see Mommy get back up.

I used to think I had to have everything figured out for them.

Now I realize maybe one of the greatest things I can show them is that you can go through hard things, learn from them, rebuild, and still keep becoming the person you were meant to be.

Motherhood didn’t erase who I am.

In so many ways, it helped me discover her. ❤️

For the longest time, I thought healing had to be some big breakthrough. But lately, I’m learning that sometimes it looks much simpler than that.

Sometimes it’s slowing down.
Sometimes it’s creating.
Sometimes it’s choosing yourself without guilt.

Learning to love yourself can be one of the hardest things to do, but also one of the most freeing.

Because the truth is, you deserve the same love, patience, and care that you so freely give to everyone else.

And if paying a little more attention to yourself helps you show up better for the people you love, then maybe that’s exactly where your attention is needed most.

You cannot pour from an empty cup. But when you start filling your own, everyone around you benefits too. 💛

Our first PAL Art Show and End-of-Year Celebration was on honestly one of the best nights.

Thank you to all of the parents who supported this program, the volunteers who gave their time after already long and busy workdays, the Chief of Police for believing in us and this program from day one, poppa Stan Sadlowski with Crates LLC for building us a frame for our mural piece and of course, the amazing officers who continue to show up for these kids.

Most importantly, thank you to all of the kiddos.

I am beyond proud of how far we’ve come in such a short amount of time. I’ve had the privilege of getting to know each and every one of you—your personalities, your strengths, your favorite projects, who loves getting messy and who prefers to keep things neat. Watching your confidence grow, your creativity shine, and your friendships form has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.

This program has always been about more than art. It’s about building confidence, communication, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and positive connections with the officers and community around us. These are lessons and relationships that I hope stay with our students long after the paint dries.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. I hope you enjoyed the pizza, the artwork, and seeing just how much these incredible young artists have accomplished this year.

My heart is so full. ❤️

I came for the craft… I stayed for how it made me feel.

Relaxed. Connected. Inspired.

Sometimes it’s never really about what you make—it’s about what you rediscover along the way. ✨
