The stories behind the College National Finals Rodeo aren’t just made in the arena.

For one morning, the horses, saddles, and bull ropes get traded for bats, softballs, and cleats as coaches and athletes face off in one of CNFR’s favorite traditions.

⚾🤠 The annual Coaches vs. Athletes Softball Tournament returns for on Wednesday, June 17 at Crossroads Park.

Coach of the Year Paul Brown has traded the never-ending pace of coaching for a new chapter — still leading the Ag department, teaching, helping with Saguaro Rodeo Productions, and most importantly, soaking up time with family.

“What I thought would be more fishing and relaxation has turned into family time.”

From mentoring student-athletes to cheering on grandkids at their own sporting events, the impact of college rodeo coaches reaches far beyond competition.
