Let’s catch up!! I know all excited for the Fall semester, but let’s check in and see what RU Theatre and Dance students have been up to!

Laethan Day is an upcoming sophomore and a BFA MT major. He spent this summer working on Godspell at the Harris Arts Center in Calhoun. He is super excited for this upcoming school year and can’t wait for the new opportunities this year will bring!

Danielle Lusian began her summer by vocal/music directing with Dynamic Youth Theatre in Canton, GA in their production of “James and the Giant Peach Jr.” Since then, she qualified for the National NATS singing competition, traveling to San Antonio Texas in early July to compete. In her category—commercial music—she was a semi-finalist, making her the top 15 singers in her category in the US! Throughout her many auditions, classes, jobs, and competitions, she has even starting building her voice studio, now teaching professional voice lessons to singers throughout Georgia! Danielle will conclude her summer by starting her contract as a vocalist and flute/guitar musician in “Quilters” at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center in August.

Scarlett Mumford is a rising Junior here at Reinhardt University. She’s getting her BFA in Musical Theatre. This summer Scarlett has been working as a bartender at the Dalton country club, and she was cast as Winnifred in Once Upon A Mattress performing July 24th through August 2nd at the Artistic Civic Theatre.

Grace Probst created a logo this summer for the MFA Choreography program, featuring the Reinhardt University Theater building. The design was printed onto sweatshirts and stickers for the program. They are grateful to be able to create for and support the dance, theater, and arts programs at Reinhardt University. Grace is a Junior and Graphic Design major with a Dance minor, and looks forward to the dance classes in the fall. For more of their art, check out their art account: Grace Probst

⭐️SENIOR SPOTLIGHT⭐️

Nathaniel Grisham is a senior musical theatre major who is excited to move onto the next step in his career as a graduating senior. He is incredibly grateful for his training at Reinhardt University and the opportunities that have been extended to him by his peers and professors. Some of his favorite past productions at Reinhardt University include Ride the Cyclone (Mischa), Cabaret (Emcee), Once (Guy), Clue (Wadsworth), and more. He would like to thank his family, friends, professors, and loved ones for their consistent support throughout his journey at Reinhardt University and looks forward to what comes next on his journey as a performer.

⭐️SENIOR SPOTLIGHT⭐️

Ciara Devane is so incredibly excited to graduate this year as a senior musical theatre major. She is so proud grateful for all the opportunities she’s had on the Reinhardt stage. Her favorite roles were portraying Charlotte in “These Shining Lives”, Sally Bowles in “Cabaret” and Dormouse in “Alice by Heart”. She is endlessly grateful for all the opportunities to explore and learn under such a kind and patient faculty. She is so honored to have been a Reinhardt eagle and make so many memories and friends. She wants to thank all of her family, friends, and faculty for their support on this journey. Post graduation, she plans to pursue performance!

Makena Raine Fosdick is graduating this May 1st with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre and Minor in Dance!! She has been a part of 11 shows in her time at Reinhardt University, some of her favorite roles most recently include Louise in Gypsy and Elizabeth in If/Then. Makena has had many opportunities in her time here including but not limited to: dance captain, fight captain, director, choreographer, and costume assistant. She hopes to continue broadening her horizons post graduation and is planning on auditioning for performance opportunities both inside and outside of Atlanta. Currently she is stepping into a larger position at Southern Belle Character Company where she has been working the past four years. Also, having tv/film debuts on multiple platforms including her first movie in theaters “Slanted”. Thank you to her professors, peers, and family for supporting her, pushing her, and always encouraging greatness in following her dreams. Come support her at her showcase April 25th @ 5:00!!
