The Biggest and Best July 4th Parade in MA! Started in 1922.

Wakefield Independence Day Committee (WIDC) began in 1990. The WIDC is a 501(c)(3) public charity under IRS Code Section 170. The mission of the Wakefield Independence Day Committee is to put on a 4th of July Parade in Wakefield, Massachusetts.

Time to plan the parade -- 27 days out. Please know that all are welcome to The Big Meeting - Tuesday, June 9, 7pm, in Beebe Library lecture hall. If you would like to receive the Big Email sent yesterday, contact [email protected]. We have plenty of bright orange shirts for parade day!

We are concluding our Big Check photos of parade sponsors this year with Garry Kelly and daughter Nora Mai. Garry was a 2024 sponsor and is happy to be back with HIS top fan! Thank you for being a Unit Sponsor again!

Indianapolis Motor Speedway hosted the second annual Wienie 500 (May 22), where six custom vehicles competed on the iconic track. Racing experts and competitors analyzed aerodynamic strategies and the unique challenges of maneuvering these massive creations as they push for victory in this highly anticipated and festive event.

We will be getting an Oscar Mayer wiener mobile - not sure which one but we will welcome it with open buns?

Need something to do tonight and want help out your community with the best fireworks on the 4th of July? You’re in luck! Come on down to the West Side Social Club tonight for a special Trivia night benefiting the Children’s Activities and Fireworks on the Common. $20.00 per a person. Doors open at 6:30 pm and game starts at 7:30 pm. There will be a 50/50 raffle as well. Get your team of up to 8 players and have some fun with us! Cash prizes to the 1st and 2nd place teams!
