Markets are interesting. I truly never know what will be the hits and what will be the misses. And when I try to make predictions, I wrong a lot of the time!
This past Saturday's AutumnFest was no exception. For fun, let's look at the hits and misses!
I made this design in a few different bright Halloween colors with different charms in the middle - ghosts, skulls, pumpkins, etc. Maybe it was because they were in a little basket and not on a shelf, but some version of these earrings was picked up, held and dangled soooo many times!
I think i did finally sell one pair.
I had a lot of necklaces with me. This photo is just over half of them. Sometimes I sell 1, sometime I sell zero. On Saturday I sold 3!!
As usual, studs were my best seller. And out of all the studs the stars and moons were the most popular with dragons close behind.
These got quite a few oohs and ahhs but no real serious buying interest. I am not surprised at all. They are statement pieces - big and bold - and not for everyone. Many appreciate the design and cuteness but the size js a bit too much for many which is why I only made 4 pair total. I do believe they will eventually find their person though!
The most talked about and asked about were my faux embroidery designs. I answered so many questions about my process and so many people couldn't believe they were clay. I sold 2 of the 4 pair I had with me.
I made these popular black moon dangles two years ago and finally this year added some other colors I have been dying to make. One of the few "repeat" designs I do, I love that no two pair are alike due to the nature of the process. Green seems to be the most popular color of the new expanded line.
In 2024 I designed fluorescent lightning bolt dangles for my sister and I to wear to a NKOTB concert. We got a couple of compliments on them and it only took me 2 years to make more. 😆
I only had 2 pair with me but I think I would have sold more. They were the first items to sell!
