I am constantly inspired by the beauty and grace of the environment, the mountains of Vermont, the ever changing skies and seas and the glory of sunsets. I am grateful for the ability to sit still and watch these things unfold. I try to represent my appreciation for these things in paint, capturing a moment in
time. Also, if I am not seeing at the moment, what I would like to, I happily create that scene! The nature of fluid painting allows for many versions of the same subject with every single painting being entirely unique. I hope you look at several Seascapes, sunsets or landscapes to see how the paintings are as individual as the environment is. I also sometimes just cut loose and let the paint tell me what it chooses to do with the pallet I present at that particular moment. The specific gravity of the individual pigments arrange themselves by sinking or rising through the layers of color, producing surprising results. It is an odd feeling to have such limited control of the flowing pigments, but there is freedom in that as well. I am constantly surprised and learning day by day about this interaction.
